All I can saw OH MY GOD that women is HOT!! At the age of 42 Naomi Campbell is hotter then she ever was and with these new blonde tresses that women has just proven once again why she is still a “super model”, bravo Naomi, when I grow up I wanna be just like you (minus the anger).

A different league

It almost feels like over night Micheal Kors has upped his game but we both know this is not the truth, never the less I have become a huge fan over night. Micheal Kors is not just selling fashion items he’s selling a lifestyle, a lifestyle that seems so far reached but I naively believe I too will look like these jet setters if I wear those sunglasses. All I can say is fantastic marketing because I have bought into it.

The coolest guy in town

It’s never been a better time to be a man, for years it wasn’t cool to be into fashion or simply what you wore and then when it was acceptable it was only celebrities or Premier league footballers who could afford the bill. Not anymore boys the rest of world has come to there senses, quite frankly it’s about time, I’m over looking at men that don’t take pride in there appearance just as much as I’m sick of looking at women who don’t make an effort really there’s no excuses!!

McQueen has really been a leader is this field and without fail this fashion house deliverers season after season.

Unfortunately not everyone can afford Alexander McQueen but there are so many other labels that have taken inspiration from the label or just simply are of similar style. Such label is All Saints, you simply can’t go wrong with everything from boots to shirts you can pull together your whole outfit from one shop, which I’m sure is music to most men’s ears as the thoughts of traipsing around shops (plural) is their worst nightmare.

Festival Season

The festival season has officially kicked off as Coachella took place at the weekend. Festivals are the best social events to really get creative and let your inner free spirit out, nothing is off limits. I think the reason the fashion at Coachella is always so amazing is because of the weather, I mean lets face it it always manages to rain at the festivals in Ireland. Everyone who’s super cool in celeb land rocks out at Coachella. After seeing some of the ultimate hipsters looks its giving me the urge to go to a festival this year, something tells me ill be eating those words…..

Dressing for festival is always great fun and that’s what you must remember, all rules go out the window.. Don’t hold back!!!

Leave your locks down and wavy or back comb the life out of it and throw it up in a messy updo. Not sure what you want? Wear a hat!! Or try a head piece with flowers or feathers.. Oh the options are endless!!

Boots are a must, why not try biker or cowboy style. These both will look awesome with skirts, mini dresses or hot pants. If none of that takes your fancy, throw on a maxi and slip and bangle up your arm and your done. Let that Love Goddess shine and give into your free spirit that has been caged up all year!! 😉

Lets make it simple

It’s all very over whelming this fashion malarkey, and where do you start!! I think we should take a step back from that clothes rail and let’s break it down a little bit.

I recently read Michael Kors saying “don’t put a round peg in a square hole” my version is not as forgiving as his, but either way he’s correct you HAVE to dress for your shape, embrace those curves, there sexy so work with them and just as importantly don’t be ashamed if you have what they call a boys shape it’s equally as beautiful. If you are having difficulty working out what works for your shape find a celebrity who has your shape and skin tone and work with what they are wearing after all there paying a stylist thousands to dress there shape.

When trying on something, always try on your size plus one size bigger and one size smaller as every fashion house cuts differently. This rule also applies to your bra, fortunately most good stores will have a lady at the ready to help measure you, take full advantage of this service ladies your bra can completely alter and enhance your shape.

Just because it is in fashion doesn’t necessarily mean its for you, so if it doesn’t work, back away slowly and nobody will get hurt.

As mentioned in a previous post if were showing leg cover the top half and if your sporting your new J Brand denims then wear that delicate top you’ve been dying to wear. Remember it’s one or the other NOT both.

When in doubt avoid big earrings or necklaces, there’s a fine line between stunning and trashy, opt for chunky rings or watches, these are much easier items to pull off.

And lastly, when in doubt keep it simple until you feel confident enough to get your styling on, and when you think ” it’s too hmmmm… Can’t put my finger on it” the answer to this question is Coco Chanel’s rule of thumb take off the last accessory you put on and then take a look at your ensemble, that always seems to work.

Bikini ready

There’s one thing on all women’s mind this time of year and that’s getting “bikini ready”!!

Firstly I am not an expert but I can impart some wisdom that will help you achieve your goal….

Water….I can not emphasise the importance of drinking water, try at least 2L a day. A great tip is to drink a pint of water a half an hour before each meal.

Detox…. There are so many over the counter detox’s, don’t bother with them simple buy one lemon and one lime cut them in a half and squeeze them into 2L of water, it’s very bitter at the start but you quickly become used to it. This really flushes the system out, plus it’s great for your skin. I’m trying out a new one myself it’s lemon, mint leaves and and cucumber it’s my first day to try this so I can’t recommend this just yet.

Cut out any fizzy drinks and I mean completely stop, your guaranteed to shed a couple of lbs in a few weeks .. That means NO fizzy drinks!!

Squats… These are brilliant for the bum and legs break these up with front lunges and when you’ve finished that do sit ups. Every evening push yourself that bit further do a couple more every time. There are plenty of videos online to show you the correct way to do these. (I strongly advise you to watch these videos first if you have not done them before as posture and technique is important.) I don’t recommend you start running as fat tends to turn to muscle, so if you can power walk a couple times a week and if you can do more even better. I just downloaded an amazing app that I recommend you get, it’s called “map my run”, it’s well worth a try.

Replace sweets and crisps with fruit and nuts. I love to buy ready cut carrots and squeeze lemon juice over them, this is a fantastic tasty snack.

At the end of it all its only you who can make the sacrifice and put in the work and no one will be there to push, but ladies my god is it worth the pain when your strutting your stuff down the beach. I hope this helps you on your way to new lifestyle.
